Résumé

The paper analysis operation of an electrically driven heat pump of 8 kW installed capacity for space heating in a low-energy single-family building in Polish climatic conditions. The house is located near Warsaw and its energy systems are based on utilization of renewables. The fossil fuel primary energy consumption index for heating has been calculated to be 67.68 kWh/m2 annually. To reduce this consumption the photovoltaic system with capacity of 7 kW has been considered to supply electricity to drive a heat pump and to power
all electrical appliances. Results of calculations have been validated by the real operation of the upgraded energy system (calculated SCOP was 4.5 while the real is 4.9). Results show that 40% of electricity generated by the photovoltaic system is consumed by the heat pump during space heating season and the rest of electricity is provided by the grid. Thanks to the application of the PV system, the primary energy consumption index for heating decreases to 17. 57 kWh/m2 annually.
