Summary
It is effective and economic to use an ejector to recover expansion loss of a CO2 transcritical refrigeration cycle. Most of previous theoretical researches on the CO2 ejector cycle fail to take notice of the fact that the geometry of a general ejector can not be changed at will in practice. In the model of this paper, the ejector geometry is fixed and the area occupied by the motive and suction stream at the inlet of constant area mixing section per unit total ejector flow rate is given. Based on this model, effects of geometry parameter and off-design operation conditions on the cycle performance were investigated. The results will be helpful to understand characteristics and design of a CO2 transcritical ejector cycle with fixed geometry ejector.
