Summary
This paper compares the CFD simulation and experimental results of the COS (condenser outlet split), DOS (diffuser outlet split) ejector refrigeration cycle with a standard ejector cycle. The system is investigated experimentally and CFD simulated under thermobank. The dimension L×W×H of cold storage is 3×1,6×1,4 m, thermobank is 600×300×400mm.The two phase ejector is used in system which the purpose increases in coefficient of performance (COP) and decrease in compressor displacement relative to a standard vapour compressor cycle.Nozzle with different Dnt and the adjustable ejector were also studied under different
conditions.The results ofCFD simulation showed that Dnt(diameter of motive nozzle) of 1mm and Dnm(diameter of mixing chamber) of 6mm yielded the best ejector efficiency and energy efficiency ratio. The COS and DOS ejector cycle are advantageous because of offering the potential for more than one evaporation temperature and it also do not include a liquid - vapour separator. When compared to standard cycle, the heat pump system using COS or DOS ejector cycle got maximum COP improvements of 24.5%
with experimental results.
