Summary

Since the Montreal Conference, policy concerning refrigerants has evolved continually. Gradual phase-out of CFCs in refrigerating plant has brought about far-reaching changes in the profession. Long-term education has been required in order to change the mentalities of contractors, manufacturers and distributors of refrigerating units and chemists have performed considerable research leading to the development of new products. Will refrigeration become more expensive in the future? All persons involved will have an impact.
