Refrigerant composition regulating method in small-tonnage LNG plants.

Summary

Ambient temperature has a noticeable effect on parameters of single mixed refrigerant (SMR) external cooling cycle of a small-scale natural gas liquefaction unit, such as, a decrease in temperature at the inlet of the natural gas refrigeration unit and a decrease in temperature of the refrigerant after air cooler in winter. Automatic control system that adapts to environmental conditions will be able to lower annual energy consumption while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. To study the influence of ambient temperature on energy a cycle model with variable parameters was developed and optimal cycle parameters were suggested depending on the ambient temperature.
