Summary
Organizations involved in the production, processing and distribution of foodstuffs can be the target of malicious acts of various types and to various degrees. All stakeholders in the cold chain need to be prepared for this in order to prevent and to limit their impact, that can be considerable, whether for such incidents, the population or for the companies. This guide has been developed and distributed to help food chain professionals to implement preventive and protective measures so as to reduce the risks the foodstuffs they handle could be exposed to, following malicious, criminal or terrorist actions. It is the responsibility of each stakeholder to decide, in a voluntary manner, what is suitable for his or her business, according to an individual risk and analysis and the available means.
