Flooded systems (gravity fed).
Koudesystemen met natuurlijke circulatie.
Type of article: Article
Summary
Due to the increasing demands to diminish the quantity of refrigerant, the use of an indirect or a cascade system is more and more considered. The plate heat exchanger plays an important role because of its large exchange surface in a small volume. On the refrigeration side, the use of gravity-feed circulation of the refrigerant is widespread. The exchange surface of the heat exchanger is fully used with ample adjustability. Reliable systems running on ammonia are also possible with this system. The article discusses basic principles and designs of evaporators with gravity-feed refrigerant circulation.
