THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE A SPECIAL DILUTION REFRIGERATOR USED TO STUDY THE DECAYS OF RADIOACTIVE NUCLEI WITH LIFETIMES OVER 1 HOUR IN OFF-LINE EXPERIMENTS. THE REFRIGERATOR HAS 4 STANDARD LOW-TEMPERATURE SINTERED COPPER HEAT EXCHANGERS. ITS USEFUL COOLING POWER IS 60 MICROWATTS AT 50 MILLIK, AND THE BASE TEMPERATURE IS ABOUT 10 MILLIK. A SPECIFIC FEATURE OF THE REFRIGERATOR IS AN ADDITIONAL CHANNEL THAT DIRECTLY CONNECTS THE STILL AND THE MIXING CHAMBER, AVOIDING THE SYSTEM OF HEAT EXCHANGERS.
