Available in DVD or VHS format, this 10-minute video is designed to be used to describe how advances in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration help people live healthier, happier and longer lives. It describes how engineers, scientists, university researchers and enterprising companies have developed systems that save energy, reduce emissions of global warming gases and make life better for people around the world. It explains how innovative energy-efficient equipment using safe refrigerants has made possible products and services that range from fresh food shipped from distant markets to refrigerated medicines and vaccines, 24-hour surgical suites, computer chips, productivity enhancing buildings and protection from killer heat waves. According to the video one of the major improvements made in refrigeration and air conditioning is the use of HFCs, a refrigerant being used to replace R22 systems which have been used for decades for comfort cooling and commercial refrigeration.
